Alloy wheels

The alloy wheels (grade dependent) of the Mazda6 provide a perfect sporty elegant finish to this outstanding vehicle. With plenty of road hugging rubber, both the 17 inch and 18 inch alloys will inspire you to really drive.

Body kit

For an even sportier appearance, across the entire Mazda6 range, each grade comes standard with integrated side skirts. Or for the ultimate sporty look, the Luxury Sports comes standard with front and rear aero bumpers, rear spoiler and sports grill.

The result is 136kW and a punchy 400Nm of torque, delivered through a slick-shifting 6-speed manual transmission. Electric power assist steering

Creating a sense of 'oneness' with the car, the Mazda6's Electric Power Assist System (EPAS) contributes to making the steering feel and control of the Mazda6 both responsive and precise. Such technology aids in enabling the car to respond in a linear, stable manner to the small steering inputs whilst cornering and driving in a straight line.

Suspension

The high-mount double-wishbone front suspension and the E-type multi-link rear suspension hold the Mazda6 snugly against the bitumen. Including single-pivot lower arms and a six-point perimeter mounting arrangement on the front suspension, and larger, higher-mounted trailing-arm bushes on the rear, all means superior rigidity, ride comfort and road-noise reduction at all vehicle speeds.

Transmission choice

With the choice of either a 6-speed manual or 5-speed Activematic, the Mazda6 covers all bases. Inheriting sports-car DNA from the RX-8, the Mazda6's automatic transmission incorporates Active Adaptive Shift (AAS). This system automatically selects gears not only in accordance with the slope of the road, but also with the twists in the road and the driver's intentions.

Air-conditioning

Pumping out warm or cool air-conditioned air into the cabin, the Mazda6 will keep occupants comfortable across all the seasons. With standard air-conditioning in the Limited, or the full dual-zone climate control system in the Classic, Luxury and Luxury Sports models, escaping the outside elements is a breeze.

Audio System

With a 4-speaker MP3 compatible CD audio system in the Limited and a 6-speaker MP3 compatible 6CD-stacker system in the Classic, enjoy all your music favourites when cruising on the road.

But if you’re serious about you music, both the Luxury and Luxury Sports come with a 6-disc CD player and Bose ® amplifier with AUDIOPILOT^TM noise-compensation technology and 8 speakers which automatically changes individual sound frequencies to maximise cabin sound quality.

Front seats

To aid the driver in finding the ultimate driving position, the Mazda6 driver seat is rake and slide as well as height adjustable. For even greater convenience, the Luxury and Luxury Sports come standard with 8-way power adjustable, 3-position memory drivers seat and 4-way power adjustable front passenger seat in a leather finish.

In-cabin storage

Cleverly designed with everyday practicality in mind, the Mazda6 has a place for everything. Whether it is the sunglasses compartment, the centre console and cup holders, or the lockable glove-box, you will notice how convenient storing and accessing your items can be.

'Karakuri' cargo area function

With clockwork precision, the innovative design of the hatch and wagon’s ‘Karakuri’ seat folding mechanism allows the rear seats to fold completely flat at the pull of a handle, even with the head restraints attached. Likewise the wagon’s ‘Karakuri’ tonneau cover is designed to move up and down with the rear tailgate, concealing your belongings whilst providing hassle free access to the cargo area.

Multi-function steering wheel

Standard on the Classic, Luxury and Luxury sports, the multi-function steering wheel allows driver control to audio, air-conditioning, trip computer and cruise control functions with the tips of their fingers. Not only is this convenient, but also a safe way to control these functions whilst on the road.

Safety

Airbags

The Mazda6 range is equipped with six SRS airbags. Driver and front passenger, front side as well as curtain airbags provide peace of mind so that you can focus on the more important things…enjoying the drive.

Anti-lock brakes

In the event of hard braking, the Mazda6 ABS braking system will stop you from going into a skid. This safety measure allows the driver of the vehicle to maintain steering control. In addition to ABS, the Electronic Brakeforce Distribution system (EBD) distributes the braking force between front and rear.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) & Traction Control System (TCS)

Perhaps one of the most important safety technologies developed since the introduction of the seatbelt, the entire Mazda6 range is fitted with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) & Traction Control System (TCS). Managed by a computer system that detects vehicle traction, alters power output and brakes individual wheels in accordance with where you want the car to go, this is a must have.

Front Active Head Restraints

All five seats in the Mazda6 are fitted with 3-point seatbelts. Front seats are also equipped with seatbelt pretensioners, load-limiters and height adjustable anchorages. In addition to these, front seats are also designed with anti-whiplash headrests adding further protection against injury in the event of an accident.

Intrusion-minimising brake pedal

The intrusion-minimising brake pedal in the Mazda6 is designed to collapse away from the driver. Greatly reducing the risk of leg injuries in the event of a collision, this safety feature is just another in the long list of Mazda safety zone features.

Triple H safety construction

The Mazda6 Triple H safety construction forms part of the Mazda Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System (MAIDAS). This system is responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of the cabin. To aid in lessening the impact of the collision, the front and rear of the Mazda6 will crumple.
