The Mazda3 MPS features a body with high rigidity and a chassis tuned to handle the extremely high power delivered by the 2.3 litre DISI turbocharged engine.. Suspension and brakes have also been specially tuned for exceptional handling. This is one hot hatch that’s sure to release the Zoom-Zoom in you.

18 inch, 10 spoke alloy wheels mean business with 215/45 high performance rubber for the ultimate in grip. With plenty of surface area to maintain traction in wet and dry conditions while giving you the confidence to explore the performance limits.

From the front

Strong press lines flowing back along the bonnet from the upper part of the five-point grille used as the air intake for the intercooler, and the aerodynamically shaped front bumper and large lower grille serving as the air intake for the radiator, emphasise the bold, brash nature of the Mazda3 MPS.

From the rear

The rear view is characterised by the design of the rear bumper, which suggests stable road-hold, a large diameter tailpipe (95 mm) and a rear spoiler with integrated high-mounted LED brake light. These items add up to a tautly defined rear design that is instantly recognizable as the Mazda3 MPS.

Front headlamps

Comprised of a clear lens cover over a chrome housing, the sweeping lines of the Mazda3 MPS front headlamps adds to the fun but assertive nature of the vehicle. For even greater visibility, the Sports Pack model comes with high intensity Xenon headlamps with auto-levelling and washer function.

Sports body kit

A must have for this kind of sports car, the Mazda3 MPS comes standard with front and rear aero bumpers, side skirts and a large rear spoiler. Not only does the body kit look great, it also provides the aerodynamic performance to match the awesome power output.

Sports styling

Mazda3 MPS styling conveys the ultimate in dynamic performance at a glance. Characterized by boldly flared front fenders and strong edges on the bonnet, a clear but subtle statement of spirited performance is evident.

Performance

2.3 litre turbo-charged engine

Driving thrills are never far away in the Mazda3 MPS. The Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) turbocharged engine delivers huge torque in the low to mid rev range. It's made possible by an advanced direct injection system coupled with a durable, lightweight turbocharger, virtually eliminating turbo lag.

Drive-by-wire throttle

Thanks to the drive-by-wire electronic throttle, the Mazda3 MPS' responsiveness is the envy of many sports car drivers. The improved communication with the throttle provides a smoother ride, increases control and promotes improved fuel economy.

Limited Slip Differential (LSD)

The Mazda3 MPS includes a torque-sensing LSD which ensures predictably smooth vehicle behaviour during fast cornering and on low friction road surfaces, and improves stability during off-the line acceleration and straight running.

Reinforced body

The chassis of the Mazda has been specially reinforced to offer greater stiffness. So even during the most demanding driving, accurate handling is assured.

Suspension

Suspension has been up-rated in line with performance. Both the MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear set-ups boast high rate springs, stiff dampers and large diameter roll bars than standard. With a 60% increase in roll stiffness compared to the Mazda3, the MPS promises control and agility in every corner.

Transmission

The 6-speed transmission is built for excitement. Triple cone synchronisers on first, second and third gears and a double-cone synchroniser on fourth mean fast, clean shifts are yours to enjoy all the way through to sixth. And when you get to sixth you'll savour quiet, relaxed cruising and improved fuel economy.

Audio system

With a front loading, 6-disc CD player (MP3 compatible) and auxiliary jack for connecting your favourite MP3 player,you can enjoy hours and hours of your favourite driving music. For the ultimate in listening enjoyment, the Sports Pack comes with a premium Bose ® 222 watt amplifier and 7 speakers including subwoofer.

Aluminium foot pedals

Consistent with the rest of the Mazda3 MPS interior, the sporty drilled aluminium foot pedals provide the look and feel of a true sports car. Along with stainless steel scuff plates, there will be no mistaking; this is a true performance vehicle delivering a spirited drive.

Sports bucket seats

A true sports car feature, the Mazda3 MPS comes equipped with front bucket seats engineered to hold you firmly in place. For a more luxurious look, the Sports Pack comes with half leather half premium cloth trim.

Air-conditioning (climate control)

The Mazda3 MPS climate control air-conditioning system maintains perfect cabin temperature automatically so you’ll feel comfortable whatever the weather.

Instruments

The visually arresting sports instrumentation features a blackout type meter cluster. Amber-red backlighting and indirect blue illumination improve readability while also minimising fatigue during dusk and night driving.

Steering wheel

The leather wrapped steering wheel features both audio and cruise control switches. A simple movement of your fingers is all that is required to control both audio and cruise control systems, allowing you to keep your eyes on the road.

Safety

Airbags

The Mazda3 MPS is equipped with airbags on both the driver's and passenger's side. In addition, side (front) and curtain (front and rear) airbags are also provided. The curtain airbags deploy over the front and rear side windows to reduce the risk of head injuries in the event of a side collision.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

To ensure optimal vehicle controllability and minimal braking distances, irrespective of road-surface conditions and load, the Mazda3 MPS features an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Emeregency Brake Assist (EBA). It’s all about confidence-inspiring stopping power when you need it.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)

Giving you the confidence to have fun while remaining in total control, the Mazda3 MPS features the very latest in advanced safety technologies - Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). By subtly but effectively suppressing sideways skidding and enabling smooth steering through corners at the limit you'll always be able to enjoy Zoom-Zoom.

Intrusion minimising brake pedal

The Mazda3 MPS' intrusion minimising brake pedal and collapsible steering column are designed to minimise driver leg and upper body injury in the event of a collision. It's these little details that make the Mazda3 MPS such a safe vehicle.

Keyless entry and immobiliser

With remote central locking and an engine immobiliser all controlled via the keyless transmitter you'll keep your Mazda3 MPS safe when not in use.

Seatbelts and seat design

All five seats in the Mazda3 MPS are fitted with 3-point seatbelts. Front seats are also equipped with seatbelt pretensioners, load-limiters and height adjustable anchorages. In addition to these, the front seats are also designed with anti-whiplash headrests adding further protection against injury in the event of a collision.
