Silhouette

The CX-9 has a cabin that appears compact, with a smooth silhouette flowing towards the rear to create dynamic proportions. The tapered, slender windows and kicked-up beltline are shared with the CX-7, both inherited from Mazda's new SUV design DNA.

Alloy Wheels

Whether it is the 18 inch alloys standard on the CX-9 Classic, or the 20 inch alloys on the Luxury, there will be no mistaking the sophisticated yet sporty nature of the CX-9. Not only do these wheels look great, but they have superior road holding capabilities.

Lights

Set in chrome housings with clear lens covers, the CX-9's halogen headlamps provide all the light you need to confidently navigate dark roads. Both grades receive fog lamps, large clearly visible rear tail lamps and a high mount stop lamp.

Chrome exhaust extensions

The large dual rear chrome exhaust extensions provide the CX-9 with a look of power and refinement. Attractively set on either side of the rear of the vehicle, all will envy the luxurious finish of the vehicle.

Electric sun roof

3.7 litre V6 DOHC engine

Producing 204kW of power and 366Nm of torque, the CX-9 provides ample engine performance where required. Although in the form of a medium SUV, the CX-9 still delivers the free spirited performance renowned in Mazda vehicles.

All Wheel Drive (AWD) Active Torque Split (ATS) system

Getting the most out of the power performance, the CX-9 has an AWD Active Torque Split (ATS) system. An onboard computer using real-time data on steering angle, yaw rate, lateral G force and engine status, determines road surface and driving conditions, distributing the optimal torque to each wheel.

Suspension

The CX-9 has front independent MacPherson struts with coil springs and double acting shock absorbers. The rear has a multi-link suspension with coil springs and double acting shock absorbers. This suspension system will have you gliding across all surfaces in comfort and ease.

Drive-by-wire throttle

The CX-9 utilises a drive-by-wire electronic throttle. Better communication with the throttle, responsiveness is greatly increased, resulting in improved control over the vehicle, making the driver feel more as one with the car.

Interior

Tri-zone climate control air-conditioning

Keeping all passengers of the CX-9 comfortable all year round is easy with the tri-zone air-conditioning system. With individual temperature controls to the two front seats and independent control to the rear seats, all passengers are well looked after.

Front Seats

To aid the driver in finding the ultimate driving position, the CX-9 driver seat is rake and slide as well as height adjustable. For even greater convenience and comfort, the luxury grade has 8-way power adjustment (driver) & 4-way for the passenger. Both driver and front passenger seats come with a heating function.

Storage

With so many storage spaces scattered throughout the cabin, you will have no problem finding a place for any item. Whether it's the large lockable glove-box, centre console, glasses storage compartment, cup holders or both front are rear door pockets, everyday practicality is the key.

Audio System

The CX-9 Classic comes with a 6-speaker, in-dash 6-disc CD-player with MP3 compatibility. Upgrading to the Luxury grade will give you a premium Bose® 10 speaker system with a whopping 277 watt amplifier. Your favourite driving will never have sounded so good.

Leather wrapped steering wheel

Safety

Anti-lock brakes

The braking system of the CX-9 utilises ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist. This ensures braking effort is applied by each wheel in response to the driving conditions and vehicle load, giving you the power to stop the car safely in its tracks.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) combined with a Traction Control System (TCS) is a standard feature on both CX-9 models. These combined features enhance and improve handling, by maximising the stability of the vehicle when cornering, on slippery surfaces, or in an emergency manoeuvre.

Roll Stability Control (RSC)

RSC is designed to minimise the potential risk of roll-over instances. Automatically applying brakes and changing the power delivered to individual wheels, this advanced safety technology is a must have in SUVs.

Airbags

The CX-9 is equipped with 6 SRS airbags. Designed to inflate in the event of a collision, this vital safety technology will help protect the driver and passengers from body injury. Including driver and front passenger and side as well as curtain airbags, you'll all be in safe hands.

Intrusion-minimising brake pedal

The intrusion-minimising brake pedal in the CX-9 is designed to collapse away from the driver. Greatly reducing the risk of leg injuries in the event of a collision, this safety feature is just another in the long list of Mazda safety zone features.

Reversing Camera

In larger vehicles it can be difficult to see what is behind you. For this reason the CX-9 comes standard with a reversing camera. By simply putting the car into reverse, the rear view camera will display the area behind the car on the audio touch screen, clearly showing you the way.
