Performance

2.3 litre DISI turbocharged DOHC engine

Producing 175kW of power and 350Nm of torque, the CX-7 has the feel of a sports car wrapped up in the body of a SUV. Whilst keeping exhaust emissions to a minimum as well as reducing fuel consumption, the CX-7 will consistently deliver an invigorating drive.

Transmission

The 6-speed activematic transmission in the CX-7 is adopted to provide the pleasure of full control of high power at will and in addition, contributes to the quietness and fuel economy. The transmission can be shifted up and down with a simple forward/backward movement to provide more agile and direct shift feel.

All Wheel Drive (AWD) Active Torque Split (ATS) system

Getting the most out of power performance, the CX-7 has an AWD Active Torque Split (ATS) system. An onboard computer using real-time data on steering angle, yaw rate, lateral G force and engine status, determines road surface and driving conditions, distributing the optimal torque to each wheel.

DISI technology

Utilizing Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) technology, the CX-7 delivers superior low to mid-range torque and engine response. It also means greater environmental compatibility as well as improved fuel economy.

Drive-by-wire throttle

The CX-7 utilises a drive-by-wire electronic throttle. Better communication with the throttle, responsiveness is greatly increased, resulting in improved control over the vehicle, making the driver feel more at one with the car.

Suspension

The CX-7's rear suspension is a Multi-link system (4 links per side). The higher number links per side allows greater precision in the control of wheel orientation. So even when the vehicle body is uneven, the tyres can maintain optimal position to the ground ensuring a good grip of the road surface.

Audio System

The CX-7 Classic comes with a 4-speaker, in-dash 6-disc CD-player with MP3 compatibility. Upgrading to the Luxury grade will include a premium Bose® 9 speaker system with a whopping 240 watt amplifier. Whether driving in city traffic or on rough gravel roads, nothing will disturb the concert like sound quality.

Air conditioning

Pumping out warm or cooled air from the 5 ducts situated at the front of the vehicle, the CX-7 will keep occupants comfortable through all the seasons. With standard air-conditioning in the classic, or the full climate control system in the Luxury model, escaping the outside elements will be easy.

Front Seats

To aid the driver in finding the ultimate driving position, the CX-7 driver seat is rake and slide as well as height adjustable. For even greater convenience and comfort, the luxury grade has 8-way power adjustment (driver), and both driver and front passenger seats come with a heating function.

Storage

Designed with every day practicality in mind, the CX-7 comes with a plethora of in-cabin storage compartments. Including the centre console, glove-box, door pockets and cup holders, all are in easy reach from seating positions. There is a place for everything.

Leather wrapped steering wheel

The CX-7 has a multi-function steering wheel. The ergonomically designed leather-wrapped wheel has controls to both the audio and cruise control systems. You will never have to take your eyes off the road when changing a music track, or setting the cruising speed when on a freeway.

Retractable cargo area cover

Designed to keep luggage securely confined into the boot storage area, the CX-7 comes with a retractable cargo area cover. Extremely easy to extend and retract, the cover also provides security to anything in the cargo area, by stopping prying eyes from seeing into the luggage space.

Safety

Airbags

The CX-7 is equipped with 6 SRS airbags. Designed to inflate in the event of a collision, this vital safety technology will help protect the driver and passengers from body injury. Including driver and front passenger and side as well as curtain airbags, you'll be in safe hands.

Anti-lock brakes

The braking system of the CX-7 utilises ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist. This ensures braking effort is applied by each wheel in response to the driving conditions and vehicle load, giving you the power to stop the car safely in its tracks.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) combined with a Traction Control System (TCS) is a standard feature on both CX-7 models. These combined features enhance and improve handling, by maximising the stability of the vehicle when cornering, on slippery surfaces, or in an emergency manoeuvre.

Reversing Camera

In larger vehicles it can be difficult to see what is behind you. For this reason the CX-7 comes standard with a reversing camera. By simply putting the car into reverse, the rear view camera will display the area behind the car on the audio touch screen, clearly showing you the way.

Seatbelts

In the CX-7, each seatbelt has a pretensioner and variable load limiter. The pretensioner tightens the belt to restrain the user when a collision is detected. If the load applied to the belt is too high, the load limiter loosens the belt so that it restrains, but does not apply excessive pressure.

Triple H safety construction

The CX-7 Triple H safety construction forms part of the Mazda Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System (MAIDAS). This system is responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of the cabin. To aid in lessening the impact of the collision, the front and rear of the CX-7 will crumple.
